Unlike other projects in my portfolio, Uncaged Soccer is an external company project where my role focused exclusively on programming. My contributions were primarily on the codebase, which is not visually representative for a portfolio website.
For illustrative purposes, I have included publicly available graphics, though these are not my own work and remain the property of their respective owners.

Uncaged Soccer:

During my six-month employment at UNKJD , I worked as a Unity developer within the Italian studio based in Florence, collaborating remotely with colleagues across different locations. This was my first experience inside a larger company, which meant adapting to an established codebase and integrating with multiple external systems.

The team followed an Agile workflow, iterating rapidly on new gameplay ideas and system prototypes. My main contributions focused on game controls and UI systems, developed in close collaboration with the Italian team.

Beyond the technical challenges, this role gave me valuable experience working in a structured environment with highly skilled professionals. It strengthened my ability to work within a distributed team, follow collaborative development practices, and contribute effectively to an evolving product in a startup setting.

Multiplayer Experience:

This role also marked my first experience working on a multiplayer title, with all the challenges that come with net-code and the demands of a large-scale mobile game in the style of competitors such as Brawl Stars.
As a programmer, I was responsible for developing code that relied on external configurations from a database, as well as handling and extending complex in-game assets within the Unity environment.

Challenge:

The biggest challenge I faced was adapting to an existing, large-scale codebase, this was my first time joining an ongoing project of that size.

I also had to adjust quickly to the fast pace of internal decision-making while still respecting established coding standards and workflows. Fortunately, I worked alongside highly skilled colleagues who provided valuable guidance and mentorship throughout the process.
